An example of Checkbox controls, as shown on Linux The ComboBox Control The ComboBox control, as you see in Figure 3-18, provides features found in both the EditField and PopupMenu controls. You can use it to enable users either to type input or select an item from a list of items. Figure 3-18. An example of the ComboBox control, as shown on Linux Once a ComboBox is selected, users can use the up and down arrows to locate an item, and then press Enter or Return to select it, or press Escape to close the pop-up list without making a selection. The ContextualMenu Control The ContextualMenu control, as shown in Figure 3-19, is used to display a pop-up list of choices for any control that supports it. Once created, one ContextualMenu can be associated with any number of controls and is accessed by right-clicking (control-clicking on Macintosh) on an associated control. An example of the ContextualMenu control, as shown on Linux The DatabaseQuery Control When added to a window, the DatabaseQuery control provides your application with the capability to submit a SQL query to a database when the window to which it was added loads.
